Last week we told you that Republican State Senators in Georgia had introduced legislation that would roll back "no excuse" absentee voting and automatic voter registration. Well today, Republicans in the Georgia General Assembly introduced a bill to ban early voting on Sundays prior to election.
Their motivation? To prevent Black churches' get out the vote efforts.

We knew that Georgia's Republican-held legislature would rear its ugly head following November's massive voter turnout and January's Senate runoff races.
However, we didn't expect their voter suppression efforts to be so blatant.
Today's voter suppression bill was introduced at 1:53 p.m., just over an hour before its 3 p.m. hearing. Make no mistake: Georgia's GOP will do whatever it takes to stay in power -- democracy be damned.
