The United States Postal Service (USPS) has long been a centerpiece of American communities. Trump’s Postmaster General Louis DeJoy jeopardized that when he politicized our postal service to try and help Trump steal the 2020 election.
But DeJoy isn’t the only one at fault here. The entire USPS Board of Governors let DeJoy gut our postal service.
The currently-serving USPS Board Members were hand-selected by Donald Trump likely because he knew he could trust them to stay silent while he used our postal service to prevent Americans from having their voices heard and to advance his own agenda.
Their inaction put Veterans and seniors at risk of not receiving lifesaving medications on time. They put families at risk of missing paychecks, bills, credit card payments and court notices. Small businesses weren’t getting what they needed to run their operations. In my opinion, their silence makes them just as responsible as Louis DeJoy.
It will take significant work to rebuild public trust in the Post Office leadership. Let’s start that work today with a brand new USPS Board of Governors. Do you agree? Sign my petition here:
