In honor and celebration of Black History Month, as we reflect upon the
contributions of Black Americans, Sojourners is pleased to offer a chance to
hear from Rev. Dr. Yolanda Pierce, Dean of the Howard University School of
Divinity, this Wednesday, February 24, 6 - 7 p.m. EST, about her new book, In My Grandmother’s House: Black Women, Faith, and the Stories We Inherit.
Rev. Dr. Pierce is the creator and curator of “Touching the Sacred,” an exhibit
on material religion and the Black church, and is a member of the Modern
Language Association, the American Academy of Religion, and the American
Historical Association. Most recently, she contributed to the PBS special “The
Black Church: This is Our Story, This is Our Song.”
She will be joined in conversation by Rev. Terrance McKinley, director of racial
justice mobilizing at Sojourners.
We hope that you will join us this Wednesday, February 24, 6 - 7 p.m. EST on Sojourners' Facebook and Twitter
pages . This event is free and open to the public. We encourage you to share this
invitation with your networks. You will not want to miss the reflections of Rev.
Dr. Yolanda Pierce.
In peace and gratitude,
Rev. Terrance M. McKinley
Director, Racial Justice Mobilizing
