John,
Earlier this week, DFA endorsed candidate for Governor of Virginia
Jennifer Carrol Foy shared her personal story of nearly dying after the
birth of her twins.
While this was the first time she had shared her story, it’s not the first
story of Black women’s pain being ignored, dismissed, and disbelieved.
[ [link removed] ]I’d like to ask you to read her story in Elle magazine and share it
with others, because this is how change happens. When we share in life
experiences together and especially understand the unequal impact of our
broken healthcare system on people of color, we motivate caring people to
action. You can read and then share her story from here >>

Jennifer is not alone.
Black women in Virginia are four times more likely to die during
childbirth and postpartum because so often they are not seen, not heard,
and not believed. It’s costing Black and brown women their lives.
In tandem with telling her story, Jennifer released her healthcare plan
for Virginia. It addresses struggles families by making prescriptions more
affordable, requiring racial bias training for medical professionals, and
developing mobile health clinics to serve Virginia’s underserved rural
communities.

of all Virginians, but it won’t become law if she doesn’t win the race for
Governor this year. Please split a contribution between Jennifer Carrol
Foy and DFA today and build the campaign to win.

Proving she has the strength and support to build a powerful campaign,
Jennifer has already raised over 1.9 million dollars and is gaining
momentum with endorsements by local elected leaders, unions, and
organizations.
From the local Teamsters and IBEW unions to Sunrise Movement, Justice
Democrats, and DFA, we’re just getting started.
Thanks to you -- and your donation today -- we're going to make sure she
wins.
