John,
Folks in Texas are suffering right now. Power outages, water shortages, and dangerous weather conditions have left people struggling for food, water, and heat. The Texas Tribune reports now that the power grid in Texas was minutes, maybe even seconds, away from “catastrophic monthslong blackouts.”
Today, we want to send some support to organizations providing direct relief to Texans in their time of need and helping to build a better future.
Feeding Texas leads a unified effort across the state to end hunger. The Bridge is a Homeless Recovery Center for individuals without a home in Dallas County and helps folks dealing with the dangerous conditions right now. And the Texas Organizing Project Education Fund organizes Black and Latino communities in Harris, Dallas, Bexar, and Fort Bend counties to transform Texas into a state where people of color have the power and representation they deserve.
If you can afford to help, please split a donation between these organizations today.
In solidarity,
Justice Democrats
