Over the last few days, harsh winter weather and sub-zero temperatures have impacted states across the country.
Communities in Texas have been particularly hard hit; the news has been full of images of residents waiting in long lines for water — the result of burst pipes — icicles forming indoors after electricity and heat have failed, and families lighting candles and huddling around stoves for warmth. At least 10 people have died in Texas so far and hundreds of thousands of people remain without power.
So today, I am asking if you’ll split a contribution between several organizations that are on the ground, providing direct relief and resources to Texans in need. Will you support our neighbors in Texas by splitting a $3 contribution between these five groups right now?

Our Squad is big, and being a part of this movement means stepping up and having each others’ backs. Texans need our help now.
What we are seeing in Texas right now is a dire message about the accelerating impact of climate change. The efforts of some elected leaders in Texas to shift blame, rather than address the problem, represent a short-sighted, selfish abdication of responsibility, and show how little regard they have for the health and safety of the people they supposedly represent. There is no time to waste — we have to enact a Green New Deal and treat climate change like the existential crisis that it is, with bold, progressive, inclusive policies.
But right now, our neighbors in Texas need immediate relief from power shut-offs, cold temperatures, water shortages, and more.
If you can afford it, please make a $3 contribution to these five organizations, which are providing critical resources such as food assistance and shelter to people in Texas.
Thank you for supporting our neighbors in Texas today.
In solidarity,
Ayanna Pressley
