Spreading lies on TV and escaping on vacation are not the responses Texans deserve from their representatives!

Dear John,

Millions of people here in Texas are freezing right now. This isn’t exaggeration or a joke. Already lives have been lost. And where are our “leaders”? Governor Greg Abbott has the audacity to get on Fox News and tell lies about wind turbines and the Green New Deal, rather than help people. And Ted Cruz WENT ON VACATION TO MEXICO while we are trying to stay warm by sealing windows with plastic wrap.

This is a disgusting and unacceptable response from our representatives. It’s time for Abbott and Cruz to resign. Lend your support to the petition here.

Abbott and Cruz failed to protect us from the climate crisis, promoting a deadly fossil fuel economy and selling us out alongside other leaders for privatization and destructive deregulation. They failed to ensure we were prepared for an extreme weather event like this. And now they are failing to protect us in our moment of need. They aren’t going to do their jobs, so they don’t deserve to represent us.

Abbott and Cruz, RESIGN!

We deserve a government that addresses our basic needs and protects all of us. Despite the lies these irresponsible politicians are spreading, that's truly what the Green New Deal is all about. Now is the moment to deliver on immediate economic relief, invest in resilient infrastructure, ensure a social safety net, and halt the climate crisis once and for all. It is time for the Green New Deal.

Click here to sign on to the petition for Abbott and Cruz to resign and for Texans—and people all over the country—to be granted the immediate relief we need.

Thank you for helping us through this,

Paris
