First off, hope you’re well, hope your week is off to a great start. Mine certainly is -- thanks to the new poll that shows that Jennifer Carroll Foy has a clear path to win!

I’ve worked on many campaigns before, and I signed on to this race for two reasons. One: it is WAY past time our country elected a Black woman to be Governor. And two: Jennifer Carroll Foy is the exact right candidate to lead Virginia into the future.

This new poll shows that this is a two person race between Terry McAuliffe and Jennifer. They know Terry but they like Jenn when they hear about her. And when they hear about her, they say they’ll vote for her.

We need the resources to tell Jenn’s story. We’re still about $5,437 short from where our Outreach Fund needs to be to capitalize on this news. Donate here, now.

You know how incredible Jenn’s story is. She actually understands what people in Virginia are facing because she’s lived it, or she’s seen it first-hand. She grew up poor in Petersburg, making impossible decisions about affording the roof over their head or the medication keeping her grandmother alive. She became a public defender to fight for the voiceless, the people left behind the status quo. She gets it.

But we also know the uphill battle that Black women face when running for office. Many people choose not to get involved, or they wait until it’s too late. Think about Stacey Abrams in 2018 -- she lost by a tiny margin.

So I’ll be blunt with you: we can’t afford to sit on the sidelines this year and we can’t afford to not have the resources to compete in this critical moment. Donate now.

It is 2021. We have to keep fighting for progress. Jenn is ready to lead. I’m here because she’s ready to lead. And I’m counting on you to be here for her, too.

Jennifer Carroll Foy was born and raised in Petersburg. In 2017, she flipped a Republican district as a first-time candidate pregnant with twins. During her time as Delegate, Jennifer championed the ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment, helped expand Medicaid to 400,000 Virginians, and advocated for the Commonwealth’s most vulnerable communities.

She has a career of public service and it started long before 2017. As a public defender, Jennifer helped give a voice to the often voiceless — children, people suffering from addiction, those experiencing homelessness, those with mental illness, and the poor.
