Hi friend,

A 84-year-old man from Thailand died on January 28 after he was abruptly attacked while out on a morning walk in San Francisco. A Vietnamese senior was robbed in front of a San Jose supermarket on February 3. The day after, a 91-year-old Oakland Chinatown resident was physically attacked on the street.

During Trump's presidency, we saw an alarming increase in anti-Asian hate crimes. Although Trump is gone, his legacy of anti-Asian racism remains -- and Asian American seniors are the ones paying the price.

With a Democrat in the White House and a historically diverse Congress, our leaders in Washington are starting to address and reduce hate crime incidents. During his first week in office, Biden signed an executive order to address the violence that Asian Americans have seen and make COVID-19 guidance accessible in more languages.

Republicans have long touted their exclusionary, hateful agenda, and they're not showing any signs of stopping. If we're going to effectively combat the rise of hate crimes -- especially hate crimes against vulnerable community members like Asian American seniors -- we have to make sure our Democratic leaders have the support and resources they need to combat the GOP's racist, xenophobic agenda.

We're up against the GOP's powerful coalition of racist, xenophobic donors -- and right now, we're short $2,564 of having enough funds to fight back.
