wanted to share it with you today, in case you missed it. It details
how supply of the COVID-19 vaccine greatly lags behind demand here in
New York, due to the unacceptably slow distribution we’ve seen at the
federal level.

I’ve now met with representatives from FEMA, Health
and Human Services, and the Department of Defense, to discuss my ideas
for accelerating this rollout.

The bottom line is we need to
decentralize this process, and let our counties and healthcare
organizations do what they do best and figure out how to best
distribute the vaccine.. And I’m urging federal agencies to develop a
plan that would ensure we have consistent, long-term notice on
allotments.
