SACRAMENTO—Rob Lapsley, president of the California Business Roundtable, issued the following statement today in response to an announcement by Governor Newsom and legislative leaders on a series of early action budget items to address the ongoing economic crisis facing families and businesses hurt by the pandemic:

“The California Businees Roundtable supports the governor and Legislature’s relief package that is a welcome support for families and small businesses who have faced an unprecedented year of economic hardship under the pandemic closures.These short term solutions are critically important but a full economic recovery depends on getting students back in schools now and moving forward on a safe reopening of all sectors of the economy."
