We'll keep this quick,
Right now more than 2.5 million people are still without power in Texas after a cold snap hit on Sunday.
And despite what certain elected officials are saying in Texas, "frozen wind turbines" did not cause these power outages. Our crumbling infrastructure and addiction to fossil fuels are the reason why millions of people have been left cold and in the dark.
The time is long overdue for us to invest in our infrastructure and build a Just Recovery — the first step is for Congress to declare a Climate Emergency immediately:
Can you send a letter to your Congressmember and Senators urging them to support the climate emergency bill that was just introduced in Congress?

If Congress demands a climate emergency, Biden could redirect billions of dollars of funding toward the production of renewable energy.
Almost all of the blackouts were caused by non-functioning gas power plants. Yes, some wind turbines and solar facilities were affected, but on Monday, while gas plants were freezing leaving millions in life-threatening conditions, wind and solar power exceeded their expected energy delivery.
Please send a letter today and it will be delivered immediately to your Congressmember and Senators.
If there ever was an emergency, the climate crisis is it. Thank you for taking action today to help stop the worst of this crisis now.
