We need only nine House seats and one Senate seat to take back Congress in 2022. To achieve this, I believe that the GOP needs to agree on certain core principles, similar to Newt Gingrich's 1994 Contract with America, that play well to conservative, centrist and independent voters:
- Strengthening defense of our homeland and securing our southern border;
- Digging out of a suppressed economy by highlighting how Democrat Governors and Mayors have crushed jobs, schools and industries with their failed COVID-19 restriction policies;
- Discussing socialism and why people like myself risked oppressive regimes to come to the U.S. legally and work hard to achieve the American Dream;
- Keeping the U.S. energy-independent and not reliant on the mullahs in Iran who take adverse actions in the Strait of Hormuz just to hurt America; and
- Lowering drug and healthcare costs for Americans who are consuming more healthcare due to COVID-19 while still being saddled with burdensome out-of-pocket costs under Obamacare.
In my interview on Fox News this week, I discuss how President Joe Biden is more interested in siding with teachers' unions than with our nation's children; he wants to impose a doubling of the minimum wage during an economic slowdown; and he has banned oil exploration leases on federal lands that will make fuel prices rise and cause the U.S. to be more dependent on foreign sources of oil.
