Friend,
As many of you know, Ted was one of nine
Democrats selected to argue the people’s case for impeaching Donald
Trump before the U.S. Senate last week. Over the course of the trial,
Ted presented irrefutable evidence that proved Trump violated his oath
of office and committed an impeachable offense that warranted his
conviction. We are proud of all that Ted has done to protect our
Democracy and uphold the rule of law as our
Representative.
Whether or
not you were able to follow the proceedings, we wanted to be sure that
all of Ted’s supporters had the chance to watch, listen to, and read
about his role in the impeachment process:
Ted spoke with Washington Post
columnist Jennifer Rubin about why he believes that the impeachment
trial cemented Trump’s infamous place in history. You can read
more here.
He
also appeared on All In With Chris Hayes to discuss Mitch McConnell’s
post-acquittal speech on the Senate floor, and on Erin Burnett
OutFront to express his support for a 9/11-style commission to
investigate the Capitol attack. You can watch
here and here.
Part of Ted’s floor presentation is featured
in The New York Times where he explains why this trial wasn’t
just about the past, but also about ensuring that no president can get
away with undermining our elections in the future. You can find
the full
clip here.
Best, Team Lieu
