As the son of immigrants — construction and clerical workers — I know firsthand that California offers the chance to get ahead. The Golden State is home to unmatched opportunity and innovation that has pushed our nation forward. 
 
But when President Trump was elected, California not only continued pushing for progress, we also began holding the line of defense from the White House’s attacks. 
 

Amid the scandals in Washington, the New York Times recently reported how California is blocking President Trump’s actions, while at the same time, moving forward with our own progressive agenda. 
 
While President Trump tries to build a border wall and impose new restrictions on immigrants, California is expanding healthcare for the undocumented. 
 
While he cuts environmental regulations, we’re leading the nation in fighting climate change. 
 
We’re blocking the President’s illegal actions in court — while moving forward with our own progressive agenda to build a stronger future. Democrats win when we come together, team. Will you help keep our progress going as we take on this reckless Republican agenda?
