With the Far Right still stinging from their defeat in the last presidential election, voting rights are under attack more than they’ve been in decades. The For The People Act (H.R. 1/S. 1) would stop many right-wing attacks on voting in their tracks, and strengthen our democracy in other critically needed ways.
Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has voiced strong support for this package of groundbreaking democracy reforms, and both she and Majority Leader Chuck Schumer have signified the importance of the bill by giving it the designation of H.R. 1 and S.1 in the House and Senate, respectively.
We fought hard to get this historic and desperately needed package of reforms to the very top of this Congress’s agenda. Now we need to shore up the votes to pass it!
