Like many of you, I’m concerned about the integrity of our elections. Leaders at all levels must work together to implement safeguards to strengthen and restore faith in the process, which starts with each state legislature.
 
But Nancy Pelosi and House Democrats have made their top legislative priority, H.R. 1, a federal takeover of our elections. The Constitution clearly states that each individual state has the jurisdiction to enact their own voting laws, yet their proposal would take away all state sovereignty over elections and place it in the hands of Washington lawmakers and unelected federal bureaucrats.
 
I recently penned an opinion piece in The Augusta Chronicle outlining some of the worst provisions in their bill, including outlawing voter ID laws and allowing your taxpayer dollars to fund their campaign attack ads. You can read the full piece here.
 
H.R. 1 is a blatant power grab and shameless attempt to keep one party in power. I need your support to fight back.
