Why I got my Covid-19 vaccination
A message from City Council Deputy Leader, Cllr Sally Longford:
sally longford
I was pleased to have my vaccination against Covid-19 on Friday as part of the over-65s group who are now being invited to book their appointments. I had my vaccination at Kings Meadow the former ITV studios in Lenton Lane. The booking was really easy online via the Swiftqueuelink:[link removed] [ [link removed] ]. I found the staff at the vaccination centre reassuring, gentle and very thorough in their preparation. I would urge everyone over the age of 65 to book their appointment at one of the vaccination centres in Nottingham. The vaccination is the best hope we have for a return to a normal life. For me, it means I am now a step closer to cuddling my granddaughter and a trip to see my son.

Banksy artwork
Nottingham Banksy
You may have seen media reports that the Banksy artwork that appeared on the side of a shop in Lenton last October has been removed and sold. The City Council wasnt aware of these plans and of course its regrettable that it has not been kept in Nottingham for local people to continue to enjoy.
We were pleased that while the Banksy was in place, local residents were fortunate to see and enjoy it. We explored options to secure the artwork for the city with the Nottingham Project, who contacted representatives for Banksy. They asked for the artwork to remain in situ and the artists wishes were respected. Ultimately, once those options were exhausted, it was for the property owner to decide what to do with it.

Broadmarsh Big Conversation thank you!
Broadmarsh big conversation
Following the big news that a new panel of experts will be overseeing the way the Broadmarsh site is reshaped, wed like to thank everyone for taking part in our Big Conversation. We received responses from over 3,000 people, showing just how strongly and passionately people feel about this.
The City Council will work with the Advisory Group to look through the suggestions for recurring themes, outstanding ideas and elements that could form the basis of a masterplan for development. The council will then seek partners to help design and deliver the scheme for Nottingham over the next few years. So, if you took part, whether your idea was a small thing youd like to see or a wide ranging proposal, thank you for your time and imagination we hope to be able to provide feedback on where things could be heading soon.

*E-scooter key worker offer*
Escooter
Are you a key worker looking for a convenient, affordable way to travel to work?
Nottinghams e-scooter providers Wind have teamed up with the City Council to offer a long-term hire scheme exclusively for key workers working within Nottingham. Were incredibly supportive and appreciative of our key workers who have helped carry us through the pandemic. For just 30 a month, they can receive their own e-scooter to use around the clock - they're great for maintaining social distancing while travelling!

We can all take steps on our CN28 journey
carbon neutral 2028 logo
We are making great progress on our ambitious journey towards carbon neutrality by 2028, and we have a fantastic Energy Services team doing lots of incredible work on this agenda. They recently won another prestigious award [ [link removed] ] for their efforts and are constantly coming up with great projects and innovations which ultimately make a big difference for local people and place Nottingham in a strong position for the future.
Achieving carbon neutrality for Nottingham is not something just the council can do we need everyone, individuals, community groups and local businesses, to get on board. It was great to see the East Midlands Chamber representing local businesses endorse our approach and give our Energy Services Manager Wayne Bexton chance to outline our plan to members, as part of its commendable Sustainable East Midlands campaign.
