Listen, the Republican Party is out of control.
State and local GOP organizations are attacking any and all established Republican representatives who dare to waver in their support for Trump.
The Louisiana Republican Party released a statement condemning their senior senator, Bill Cassidy, for voting to convict Trump and immediately moved to censure him. The Nebraska Republican Party is preparing their second censure of Sen. Ben Sasse for supporting Trump's impeachment. And even Mitch McConnell has faced censure in 5 Kentucky counties for allowing the trial to happen at all.
Donald Trump may be out of office, but anything less than full-throated support for his lies and conspiracies means that you're an enemy of the GOP.
That's why so few Republican senators have stood up for what they know to be the truth: that Trump violated his oath of office by inciting the violent January 6 mob.
Here's the thing, though: Fifteen of the hypocritical GOPers who refuse to turn against Trump are up for re-election next year.
Our number one goal here at When Democrats Turn Out is to show that the American people reject Trump's destroy-everything agenda once and for all -- and that we reject anyone, elected official or not, who tries to deny the facts for their own personal gain.
And if the establishment Republicans show no sign of rejecting this disease in their own party, well, we'll just have to reject it for them.
