This year, the Obesity Action Coalition (OAC) is celebrating Random Acts of Kindness Day on February 17! At the OAC, we believe one of the best ways to spread kindness on this special day, and throughout the year, is to help ensure all people are treated equally.

We recognize that our words and actions matter and weight shouldn’t dictate whether or not we treat ourselves or others with kindness, but unfortunately, this isn't always the case. Through OAC's Stop Weight Bias Campaign, we can build a kinder world through education, awareness and advocacy.

“Weight bias knows no boundaries, and it’s extremely unfortunate that bias has permeated so many aspects of life for people with obesity. Compounded with that is the often overlooked internalization of weight bias, which can be very damaging to one’s self-perception and mental health.”

- Patricia Nece, JD, OAC Chairwoman

Today, we're encouraging our community to take steps to be kind to ourselves and others. In doing so, we're creating a better world for all. Click below to see a list of ways you can spread kindness on this special day!
