While Washington retreats to its partisan corners, we're getting real bipartisan results for the people of Maryland and setting an example for the rest of the nation. 

Earlier this week, I signed into law the RELIEF Act of 2021, which provides more than $1 billion in immediate tax relief and economic stimulus for struggling Maryland families, small businesses and those who have lost jobs due to COVID-19.

We got this vital bill done in record time with near-unanimous support from our overwhelmingly Democratic legislature. If we can do that in Maryland, then there is no reason why President Biden and Republicans in Congress cannot forge a compromise that addresses the nation’s top priorities in this crisis.

That's exactly what I told President Biden last Friday when I met with him in the Oval Office and it's exactly what I've told Republicans in Congress. We need your help to get the message out and convince Washington to put aside the politics.

At this time when so many Americans have stopped believing that democracy can work for them, we must show that Republicans and Democrats in Washington can work together to get important things done. We cannot afford another partisan process with one party dictating to the other.
