Right now, Washington’s 6th Congressional District is represented by a conservative, corporate-backed Democrat named Derek Kilmer. In fact, he's the 9th most conservative Democrat in the U.S. House (as rated by GovTrack). He doesn’t represent me, and he doesn’t represent the people in our district who are struggling to get by.
When Corporate Kilmer voted to cut food stamps for 1.7 million Americans, he wasn’t representing the people of our district. He was leaving us behind. He voted to cut benefits for people in Tacoma, Bainbridge, Quilcene, and places across our district — benefits that let people eat.
I'm sick of corporate Democrats who talk a good game on social justice but don't back it up with real action.

I've talked to so many people across the district who are suffering.
A senior who spent three days and three nights sleeping in her wheelchair at the bus station because her landlord wouldn't put in a wheelchair ramp and she couldn't afford anywhere else.
People waiting months and years for subsidized housing.
People struggling with addiction and unable to get into detox.
Corporate Kilmer isn't helping them. He's slashing benefits and catering to the wishes of his corporate donors like JPMorgan Chase and Lockheed Martin, while leading the business-friendly New Democrats in Congress.
I’m running for Congress to serve the people, not corporate donors. That’s why I need the people’s support to fuel this campaign.
All the money I raise by Monday at midnight will go into my public FEC filing, and political pundits, journalists, and the establishment will use that number to decide whether I can beat Kilmer.
This campaign is about winning in the face of an establishment that underestimates us. Let's show them Corporate Kilmer has a serious challenge on his hands:
