Hi John,
During my time as an undocumented Filipina student in college, I struggled to find support and faced challenges from educators and administrators who did not fully understand my identity. I was later able to connect with resources and community, but not all undocumented Asian & Pacific Islander (undocuAPI) students share my experiences.
For the past few months, Immigrants Rising has been working with members of UPLIFT — an undocuAPI collective based in Southern California — on developing best practices and tangible ways for educators to effectively connect and engage with undocuAPI students in higher education.
Please join Immigrants Rising for Increasing Inclusivity for Undocumented API Students on Your Campus Webinar on Thursday, February 18th at 10 a.m. PT / 1 p.m. ET to learn more.
Despite increasing support for undocumented students in higher education and rapid growth of the API community, undocuAPI students still feel underseen and underserved today. it is critical that campuses better uplift and serve these students.
I am looking forward to continue building with you to ensure that ALL undocumented students are supported in their educational journeys!
Thank you for all that you do!
Madeleine
P.S. Can’t make the webinar but still want to find ways to support undocuAPI students? Forward this email to three of your colleagues.
