Friend,
Washington is broken. One of the main reasons why is because members of the DC swamp have more incentive to serve special interests than their constituents. Until we fix this corrupt incentive structure, the jerseys may change, but the results will stay the same.
- Forcing Congress to pass a balanced budget,
- Establishing a five-year lobbying ban on members of Congress and high-ranking staff,
- Terminating tax-payer funded pensions, and
- Codifying President Trump's 2017 Ethics Pledge into law.
I discussed these ideas at length last week with Jay Weber on WISN Radio, but the purpose is clear: we need to make sure members of Congress need to serve the people, not the swamp.
Our time in Washington should be viewed as a deployment, not a career. And while there's more to be done (like imposing term limits on members of the House and Senate), these bills are an important first step towards making serving in Congress about just that: service.
