On
Saturday, 43 Republican senators voted to acquit Donald Trump, despite
clear evidence of the key role he played in inciting a violent, white
supremacist mob to attack the U.S. Capitol.
This impeachment trial was a referendum on white supremacist violence. And
by voting to acquit, those 43 senators confirmed that they not only
condone white supremacy — they enable it.
That is unacceptable, disgraceful, and those 43 Republican senators must
be held accountable and expelled from the U.S. Congress. That’s why I am
proud to be a co-sponsor of Cori Bush’s legislation to expel the members
of Congress who supported the attempted coup on January 6th.

The Senate’s vote to acquit Donald Trump is evidence of the callous
disregard that the majority of Republican senators have for their
colleagues, the American people, and our democracy.
But we will continue to fight for accountability for all those who
participated in the violence at the Capitol, and those who helped give
rise to it by furthering the big lie about widespread voter fraud in the
last election.

accountable for their actions.
Thank you for everything you do to support our movement and help us fight
for a future with economic, racial, environmental, and social justice for
all of our communities.
In solidarity,
