Brazil’s Chief Raoni Metuktire, Jane Goodall, and global Indigenous rights and environmental justice movement leaders invite you to join them on February 18 as they present a two-hour special, "Protecting the Amazon: Our Common Future and Responsibility in Solidarity With Indigenous Peoples."
The event is led by our partner EarthX and joined by Planète Amazone, the Leopold III Fund for the Exploration and Conservation of Nature, and the Federation of the Huni Kui People of Acre.
Together with Indigenous voices and allies, including the world’s most significant influencers in climate justice and human rights advocacy, we will connect on a virtual global stage to highlight our collective responsibility to the rainforest and its peoples.
The event will be livestreamed in English and French and co-hosted by Gert-Peter Bruch, Princess Esmeralda of Belgium, Mindahi Bastida, and our own Executive Director, Leila Salazar-López.
Viewers will be immersed in the beauty and significance of the Amazon and its critical ecosystems, all while meeting the people of the land, learning about the current socio-environmental crisis facing the rainforest, and listening to passionate community leaders and environmental activists.
Watch the premiere this Thursday at 2 pm EST / 1 pm CST / 11 am PST on Channel 1 of EarthxTV!
