Joe Biden ran for president on a platform of 100% clean electricity by 2035.
That goal – 100% -- is at the core of his $1.9 trillion promise to fight climate
change with new jobs and environmental justice.

But now that Biden is in office, how do we make this plan a reality? Can we
really power our grid by 2035 without coal and oil and gas? The answer is a
resounding YES, according to experts. But we have to hurry. Our political window
to pass legislation this year is very narrow and the Earth itself is running out
of time.

Please join us February 24th at 1 pm ET for a powerful webinar on President
Biden’s 100% clean electricity plan. There’s a pathway to historic climate
legislation THIS YEAR, but we need your help.

This webinar will answer fundamental questions related to the 100% federal plan.
For example, after four years of Donald Trump, is it too late to slow global
warming? Absolutely NOT, says pre-eminent climate scientist Dr. Michael Mann.
And after the bruising Covid-19 recession, are Republicans right to say budget
deficits prevent us from investing massively in clean energy? NO again, says
well-known economist Dr. Stephanie Kelton of Stony Brook University.

What about our divided Congress? Can we really pass federal legislation this
year to fulfill the Biden 100% plan? YES, YES, and YES, says political scientist
Dr. Leah Stokes of UC Santa Barbara and Evergreen Action. She’ll tell us how.

Meanwhile, we MUST do all of the above while protecting and promoting vulnerable
communities that have historically suffered from environmental injustice, says
Jonathan Williams of the Sunrise Movement. And we can – and WILL -- create
millions of new, good-paying union jobs while building out a massive clean
energy infrastructure for wind and solar power with utility-scale storage and efficient distribution, says Quentin Scott
of CCAN Action Fund.

To keep ourselves from burning out, many of us in the climate movement have for
years cautioned that the clean-energy movement is a marathon, not a sprint. But
now that’s all changed. After four “lost years” with Donald Trump – and because
Republicans still insist on the Senate filibuster moving forward – we basically
have between now and August of this year to pass key parts of Biden’s climate
plan – including 100% clean electricity. We’ll do it through a process called
“budget reconciliation” in Congress. But it’s going to take pressure and
involvement from all of us to make it happen.

So join us February 24th [[link removed]] for this webinar focused on the beating heart of the Biden climate plan – 100%
clean electricity. In one fast-moving hour, we’ll equip you with the policy
knowledge and legislative strategy you’ll need to plug in and help you and your
organization make history on climate change.

Best,

Mike Tidwell
