Dear Friend,

Did you know that your partnership with NILC puts you in the company of a towering figure in American history?

In September 2020, the nation mourned the loss of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Just days before her death, she was awarded the 2020 Liberty Medal. This award, given by the National Constitution Center, honors people of courage and conviction who strive to secure the blessings of liberty to people around the globe. It is with great pride that we can share with you news we recently received: Justice Ginsburg designated NILC to receive a portion of the Liberty Medal prize as one of the organizations that meant the most to her.

What an honor it is to have earned her attention and this gift!

This donation is a testament to the esteem in which Justice Ginsburg held our work — work you helped make possible with your unwavering commitment to justice. Knowing that she, too, believed in our work led by our courageous plaintiffs and the struggle of the low-income immigrant communities we are working alongside tells us that we are on the right track.

Justice Ginsburg once said, “I would like to be remembered as someone who used whatever talent she had to do her work to the very best of her ability." Together, we will honor Justice Ginsburg’s memory and legacy by using our collective talents to the best of our abilities — to fulfill our mission of ensuring that everyone living in the U.S. has equal access to justice, resources, and economic opportunities that allow them to achieve their full human potential.

Gracias,

Marielena Hincapié
