John, despite the incredible job of our Impeachment Managers, the Senate voted to acquit Donald Trump.
(This is a long message about what this means for our future, and at the end we're going to ask you to chip in $3.)

When we heard the news, we were disappointed and frustrated. You probably were, too. But we cannot allow the moral bankruptcy of the Republican party to derail our movement.
The 9 House Democrats who prosecuted Trump in the impeachment trial knocked it out of the park. On day one, insider sources reported that the prosecution's case had Trump screaming at his TV in Mar-a-Lago. Even Trump's own defense lawyer praised the Impeachment Managers for their airtight arguments.
Ultimately, the House Impeachment managers convinced 7 Senate Republicans to vote against Trump, resulting in the most bipartisan impeachment vote in history. And the Republicans who voted to acquit Trump have publicly and privately admitted that the Impeachment Managers' case convinced them that Trump was guilty.
They were just too scared or too power-hungry to do something about it.
But John, that's nothing new. We've known for a long time that we can't count on Republicans to do the right thing, even when it matters most.
That's why we flipped the House in 2018. That's why we took the White House and flipped the Senate in 2020.
And that's why we need to fight harder than ever to hold the House in 2022.
Republicans have already announced their plans to target vulnerable Democrats, "win redistricting" by gerrymandering, and do whatever it takes to elect even more extreme far-right candidates like Marjorie Taylor Greene.
We can't let Republicans turn the People's House into a den of conspiracy theorists, seditionists, and Trump supporters. Stopping them starts right here, right now.
We're preparing to fight like hell to hold the House in 2022 and keep fighting for economic relief, health care, and justice -- because even though Republicans have given up the fight for what's right, we never will. Are you with us?
