John --

Hi, my name is Sheryl Neuman, secretary of the Edmonton Mill Woods Electoral District Association (EDA).
I chose to support the People's Party of Canada because I've always appreciated principled common sense and, in my view, the policies of the party measure up. G. K. Chesterton, an English writer and philosopher in the early part of the last century, commented on patriotism. He said that everyone who loves his country wishes it were better. "We have to hate the world enough to want to change it and love it enough to think it worth changing." One hundred years later, this is still true. He also said, "The more transcendental (idealistic) is your patriotism, the more practical are your politics."
The People's Party is actually offering the electorate practical policies and principled politics on which, I believe, it will be possible to build a firm foundation for the future of all Canadians. Instead of just seeking what we can get from a government, let's focus on how we can support policies for the betterment of our beloved country and ultimately the most benefit for all citizens.
………………………………………………………………...
Thank you Sheryl! The rights of Canadians to freely hold and express beliefs are being eroded at an alarming speed.  With the input of the people, we require the freedoms to create and support policies that benefit all people in our beloved country.

History and social scientific research show that freedom of conscience and freedom of expression, when maximally protected, advance the intellectual life of a nation, foster greater ideological diversity and societal understanding, and nurture other freedoms necessary for a successful democracy.

This is why Section 2 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms guarantees citizens freedom of conscience and religion, as well as freedom of thought, belief, opinion and expression, including freedom of the press and other media of communication.

Our Plan

What some people find politically incorrect, offensive or even hateful cannot serve as the legal basis for discrimination and censorship. Canadians should be able to enjoy maximum freedom of conscience and expression as guaranteed in Section 2 of the Charter.  Everyone has the ability to find even the smallest thing offensive.  We must use common sense and remember what the meaning of democracy is:  ''The practice or principles of social equality for all.''

To get our message of Democracy and Freedom out to more Canadians we need your help.  Please consider a donation.  If you can not financially help out please spread the word that there is another alternative to the 2-Party system we have right now.  Our Edmonton Millwoods Candidate Annie Young is very willing to fight for you because she understands the meaning of freedom.  Please check out her bio on our website.
