Hello John,
I have a really crucial action for you to take today, which could impact on the lives of thousands of animals.
Last Summer the government announced a 'Zoo Animals Fund' which was designed to offer funding to zoos who were struggling to provide the basics for animals due to Covid-19, and to support rehoming costs in the event that zoos need to downsize or potentially close.
But now the industry is demanding that this funding be extended, to fuel the entire industry and to keep it going into the future.
This is no longer about looking out for the animals, but instead about keeping this cruel industry alive.

The British and Irish Association of Zoos and Aquariums (BIAZA) has written to Boris Johnson calling for the replacement of the government's existing Zoo Animals Fund with a 'Zoo Recovery Fund'.
To counter this I have have written to Boris Johnson, urging him to reject BIAZA's calls for any further funding to be made available to zoos and aquariums. Now is the time to be phasing out keeping animals in captivity, not ensuring it continues!
But to really make the case, I need your help!

Please take this really crucial action today, to make sure this outdated industry doesn't benefit from lockdown, and access more public funds.
The zoo and aquarium industry does not need saving – the animals caught up within it do.
Until all are free,
Sam Threadgill
Director

P.S. Please sign on to our letter to Boris Johnson and demand that zoos are NOT given anymore funding!
