When I first met Jamaal Bowman, it was immediately clear to me that he was a leader who could bring transformative change to our politics.

When we hit the streets together last spring, talking to voters in Riverdale, barnstorming on a bus across the Bronx, and marching with many of you for Black lives, I saw firsthand how he puts his infectious energy and heart into his work for justice.

I feel energized whenever I hear Jamaal -- so I’m especially thrilled to share his support for our campaign for NYC Comptroller! Watch Jamaal's endorsement here:

One thing that Jamaal and I share is a desire to lead and govern from a politics of compassion. As Jamaal says in the video -- my approach to that has always been as “uplifting people through policy.”

We need a government that can do big bold things to take care of our people and provide a platform for our communities to thrive. For that to be possible, we have to confront the deep injustices in our past and present, to ensure that government delivers for those who have been historically marginalized, so it can truly deliver for all of us.

We are lucky to have Jamaal fighting for that vision in Washington. And I’m deeply grateful for his partnership in the work to hold our city government accountable, and to deliver a just and durable recovery for our city as the next NYC Comptroller.
