The media has continued to draw attention to the disproportionate impact of COVID-19 on vulnerable communities of color, but far more work is still needed to understand the scale of impact and address the many possible drivers.
To examine the issue from multiple vantage points, we’ve convened multidisciplinary researchers from the Latino Research Institute's COVID Research Consortium, along with experts from Dell Medical School and the Migrant Clinicians Network, to help move this issue beyond general discourse and bring it to our community health professionals who are on the ground.
Together, we’ll confront the following questions head-on: what exactly are the factors influencing the prevention and effective treatment of Latino COVID patients? Are there major concerns when it comes to tending to the physical and mental needs of Latinos during this time? And how does responding to these particular needs ultimately weigh on our community's healthcare providers and impact their mental health?
