While the Senate did not vote to convict Donald Trump of inciting the insurrection of January 6th, the trial still served an important purpose.  This week, I wrote about how the second Senate trial of Donald Trump ensured that the damage he caused was entered into the historical record, making it impossible for his followers to claim otherwise.
