The resilience of the human spirit never ceases to amaze me. During this challenging year, I’ve seen incredible strength, not only here at home, but in the 21 countries where Heifer works.
When I think about resilience, I think about Basmati. She received no education, married very young. She struggled raising her children in poverty. She and her husband could barely provide for their children on a daily basis, let alone set them up for the futures they deserved.
But you gave Basmati renewed hope.
With your help, Heifer gave her two goats and taught her how to properly care for them. Now, she has 25 goats. Her precious children eat nutritious vegetables every day from the family’s flourishing garden alongside protein-packed goat’s milk and meat that they can finally afford. The children are thriving in school. Basmati never gave up hope, but help was out of reach before you came into her life through Heifer.
