Today's our mom's birthday, and we know exactly what she wants (she tells us - and anyone who'll listen - all the time):

She wants to make the world better.

For our birthdays growing up, she baked awesome cakes and invited loads of family and friends over. But she never made a big deal about her own birthday. When we asked her what she wanted, she'd just say things like "Justice" and "World Peace" and "True Democracy" and "An End to Hunger."

(Yes, really. Our mom thinks big.)
