Novels That Shaped Our World
Nottingham City Libraries and Nottingham City of Literature have been selected by the BBC and Libraries Connected to run a series of workshops on the theme of Politics, Power & Protest - stories about the ideas, people and power struggles that shaped our world.
Join Eve Makis, Sophie Sparham and Michelle Hubbard, along with guest authors, to discuss creative writing practices, forgotten womens voices in literature and how we can work together to design a manifesto for change. Read on to find out how you can book on to these workshops.
*The Novels That Shaped Our World [ [link removed] ] is a year-long celebration of literature at the BBC and explores 100 novels which have had an impact over the last 300 years.*
Mistressclass: Creative WritingWorkshop

Joinauthor Eve Makis for Mistressclass: an online guided creative writing workshop for new and emerging women writers, on the theme of politics, power and protest. It will include a discussion championing inspiring women writers.
We'll be joined by special guest author *Abi Dar*, who will talk about her work, her path to publication and tips and inspiration for aspiring writers, and therell also be a creative writing session - a safe space for women to express themselves and explore writing.
*Saturday 6 March, *11AM - 1PM on Zoom.**Tickets are15 per person, free to under 25s.

Forgotten Voices in WomensLiterature

Join poet and activist Sophie Sparham for this workshop that explores the forgotten voices of womens literature.
The workshop will include a discussion championing inspiring women in politics, power, and protest. We'll be joined by special guest author, journalist and presenter*Zing Tsjeng*, who will talk about her work, her path to publication and tips and inspiration for aspiring writers.
There will also be a book club discussion and Q&A so you can ask all your burning questions.

Manifesto forChange

Join poet, Michelle Mother Hubbard for the third workshop in this series: Manifesto for Change - a workshop on the theme of women in politics, power and protest. It will include a discussion championing inspiring women and those themes.
We'll be joined by special guest author*Selina Nwulu*, who will talk about her work, her path to publication and tips and inspiration for aspiring writers. Therell also be a book club discussion and Q&A so you can ask all your questions to the authors! Finally, well be writing a manifesto for change - talking and writing about womens role in the future, a vision of their creative power and social currency.
