Undeterred by the latest impeachment charade, our magazine has stayed true to its core principles. Indeed, we shall never deviate from those principles, as long as we publish our magazine. We also enjoy a dedicated readership, which is highly educated and professionally credentialed. As a result, we have enjoyed a continuing, stimulating dialogue with our readers, from whom we have drawn inspiration and enhanced our own understanding of the topics we engage.

Allow me then to describe what our staff and I do at Chronicles ([link removed]) . We prepare and fine-tune what may be the most interesting and perhaps the most erudite magazines in the world of conservative letters. Every issue, indeed, every essay and review, is thoroughly considered and carefully edited before it reaches our readers. Discussions on the intellectual Right would be much poorer if our magazine and blog no longer existed and be assured that we are dedicated to making sure that does not happen.

Thus, it is not entirely a surprise for us that despite the recent turn of events, the growing depredations of America’s ascendant oligarchy, we recently picked up literally hundreds of subscribers in a single day. Consistent with other trends, the indicator suggests that our work is resonating with more and more Americans, and this recognition is coming at a time when both our constitutional freedoms as Americans and the value of our inherited civilization have come under attack from high places. Chronicles defends both what Will Herberg called “the funded wisdom of the past” and the historical liberties of American citizens. In the battle for the real America and for the West, we stand in the front lines.
