In 2020, Americans all across the country lost faith in their election system. Whatever the disputed facts are regarding the 2020 presidential election, the security of the United States’ election system has been deteriorating for years. It is long past time to restore election integrity, because without fair elections we do not have a free country.

Whether or not one believes the claims of serious fraud, the fact that the system is so ill-designed that such accusations can be credibly made indicates the system needs to be changed. It is vital that we turn this around and restore America's election integrity.

In the February 15th issue of The New American magazine, Restoring Election Integrity ([link removed]) , election expert Kurt Hyde explains specific changes in election laws and procedures that are needed.

Below is a list of the changes that can be implemented going forward. You can get a more in-depth analysis by reading this article online here or buying the February 15th issue.

Specific Changes in Election Laws and Procedures
* Reinstate paper ballots
* Reinstate voting and vote counting as public acts
* Reinstate the precinct as the place where voters cast their ballots and where the ballots are counted
* Allow candidates to choose areas to audit the vote
* Mandate that the election process be recorded with video and audio equipment
* Publicly and immediately post precinct vote results
* Mandate the cleaning up of all voter registration lists
* Eliminate same-day voter registration
* Put in place law to protect evidence
* Punish fraud and end early voting
* Require an absolute chain of custody for ballots
* Repeal laws that allow for unattended drop boxes for ballots and laws allowing for no-excuse absentee balloting
* Ballots should have verifying features
* Make it easier to recruit election clerks
* Don't allow government employees or political hacks to run the polls
* Require paper voter sign-in sheets

Although this may seem like a lot, the good news is that these solutions are to be found not in expensive new technologies, but rather in restoring the use of tried-and-true methods of the past. Not only would the changes restore election integrity, but they would probably also cost considerably less than new technologies, especially once they are in place for a few election cycles.

No matter who one thinks won the 2020 presidential election, the widespread vote fraud — such as dead people and minors voting — makes plain that new voting procedures are needed.
