We've been clear on this: $1,400 checks are the bare minimum to keep people afloat as the pandemic's economic crisis stretches on into 2021.
But some members of Congress don't even think that's appropriate -- and they're trying to cap the $1,400 stimulus checks for those who earned $50,000 at most.
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said it best: "It is shockingly out of touch to assert that $50k is 'too wealthy' to receive relief."
