We won in 2020, but a dangerous trend continued that we must address. The growing rise of dark money at every level in campaigns.
It started eleven years ago, when the Supreme Court's Citizens United ruling left us with a democracy where money can flow into any mailbox, computer, or TV screen, and we have no idea who or how much was spent to influence our democracy. The 1 percent and corporations can hide behind the cloak of anonymity, and we have no recourse.
But here's the thing: Our democracy is NOT for sale. We need to end this cycle once and for all.
Citizens United is disastrous for our democracy. I'm teaming up with End Citizens United to get 100,000 signatures to help overturn this dangerous ruling. Add your name as a grassroots co-signer today to demand an end to Citizens United.
Corporations aren't people. Money is not speech. The system is broken right now, but we have a chance to turn the tides.
