Dear Friend,
Rhode Island’s Republican Conservative Caucus is raffling off an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle to raise money for the candidates it supports.
Rhode Island Republicans are doing this at the same time that Seth Magaziner put his stamp on legislation to keep assault weapons out of Rhode Island’s school buildings. As a former public school teacher, Seth knows the importance of keeping schools safe.
In response to questions from the Providence Journal, the chairwoman of this Republican group said “This Caucus has the responsibility to support Republican Candidates for the State General Assembly in 2022. That means finding a way to fund these races, as well as just offering moral support.”
Are you kidding me?
Last year, Seth ended the state’s investments in companies that make assault-style weapons that are sold to civilians and also divested from companies that operate private for-profit prisons. That’s leadership we can be proud of.
Thank you for all you do,
Katie
P.S. Please forward this email to others who might be interested in supporting Seth. Together, we can move Rhode Island forward and combat these types of dangerous gimmicks.
