Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez recently took to Instagram to share her firsthand experience of the violent insurrection at the Capitol on January 6.

After she posted a vulnerable, fear-filled recounting of the moment she thought she would lose her life, conservative media outlets -- as well as GOP representatives like Marjorie Taylor Greene -- began calling her story a “hoax” and got the hashtag #AOCLied trending on Twitter.
