[1]Women's March
Women's Marchers across the nation have a lot to celebrate
today, John.
Today marks the first Presidents Day in four years that Donald Trump
doesn't occupy the Oval Office — and you played a role in making that
happen. This victory belongs to all of us.
But just because we've won the White House doesn't mean our work is over.
Women and working families across our country are still facing the dire
effects of the pandemic, massive unemployment that's disproportionately
affecting women, and the existential threat of our climate crisis. That's
why we're asking you to take an important action this Presidents Day:
Women's March, in partnership with the Green New Deal Network, is writing
letters to President Biden to demand a just, equitable road to recovery
that includes the THRIVE agenda. We need as many Women's Marchers as
possible to write letters in support of a recovery plan that puts millions
of people back to work building an economy that prioritizes climate,
racial, and economic justice.

Biden demanding a bold, progressive recovery plan? Submitting a letter is

Write Biden a letter
Here are the toplines of the THRIVE agenda, which Women's March believes
must be included in Biden's plan for comprehensive COVID relief:
* Create millions of good, safe jobs with access to unions
* Build the power of workers to fight inequality
* Invest in Black, Brown, and Indigenous communities to build power and
counteract racial and gender injustice
* Strengthen and heal the nation-to-nation relationship with Indigenous
nations
* Combat environmental injustice and ensure healthy lives for all
* Avert climate and environmental catastrophe
* Ensure fairness for workers and communities affected by economic
transitions
* Reinvest in public institutions that enable workers and communities to
thrive
John, while it's
encouraging that some of President Biden's proposals already include
components of this agenda, it's going to take all of us mounting as much
pressure as possible to secure the relief women and families deserve.
We hope you'll take just two minutes to write a letter this Presidents
Day:

that prioritizes climate, racial, and economic justice. You can submit a
