In 2010, the Supreme Court's Citizens United ruling enabled large corporations to unduly influence elections by forming dark money groups able to write big checks for campaigns. 11 years later, we are still dealing with the consequences of this decision:

-Right-wing super PACs poured money in state legislative races, allowing the GOP to gerrymander district lines across the country and deprive millions of fair representation
-Unchecked spending from dark money groups has influenced lawmakers and resulted in restrictive voting laws, anti-choice legislation, and give-aways to corporate interests that leave working families behind
-Candidates who stand up for everyday people must now work twice as hard to be heard in the face of dark money attacks

The Citizens United decision severely limited the voice of the American people in elections. We cannot make the progress we need on healthcare, education, voting rights, and the environment as long as big money retains such a strong foothold in our electoral process.
