Baseless Path to Impeachment is Wasting American People’s Time, Let’s Move On
The power of impeachment was not designed to be a check on the electorate. But after two years of investigations failed to undo the 2016 election, Speaker Pelosi now calls for impeachment of the President of the United States, despite the fact that there are no ‘high crimes and misdemeanors’ she can cite.
This sacred constitutional duty should not be abused as a charade to undo the results of the 2016 election. We should be focusing on real problems facing American families, like lowering prescription drug costs, passing USMCA and solving the crisis at the southern border. The American people deserve better than this disgraceful impeachment witch hunt. Let’s move on.

Visiting Our Nation’s Wounded Warriors
Earlier this week, I had the opportunity to visit Walter Reed National Military Medical Center to join an adaptive boxing class alongside our nation’s brave wounded warriors. Our servicemembers deserve all of the thanks and appreciation our grateful nation can give for their selfless service to protect America and its freedom. It was an honor to join these heroes.

Meeting with the Greater New Orleans Economic Development Alliance
Local officials with Greater New Orleans, Inc. stopped by my office to talk about issues impacting Louisianans such as coastal restoration and long-term reauthorization of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). Last week, the House passed a continuing resolution which included an extension for the NFIP through November 21, 2019, it now awaits President Trump's signature.
Additionally, I recently joined a number of my colleagues to introduce the American Energy First Act, which is an all-of-the-above energy reform bill that will create thousands of new jobs, lower energy prices for Louisiana families, and generate billions of dollars for federal, state, and local governments. Our bill will open new areas to energy exploration, streamline the federal permitting process, and increase Louisiana’s share of offshore energy revenues that we use to rebuild our coast. Louisiana continues to lead the way in proving that we are capable of harnessing our abundant natural resources in a safe and environmentally-conscious way.
