Trump has left office. His QAnon supporters think he'll be sworn back in.
According to Newsweek, QAnon followers “now believe that March 4 will be the day that Trump will still somehow be sworn in as president,” and the FBI still considers these right-wing extremist conspiracy theorists “a domestic terrorist threat.”
Even as QAnon followers plan for their next big event, the GOP refuses to condemn their extremist, conspiratorial base -- but our Democratic leaders are.
House Democrats stripped QAnon follower Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of her committee seats and charged Trump for inciting an insurrection. And with Democratic control of Congress and the White House, our Democratic leadership is taking on the GOP's right-wing, extremist base.
Listen, the GOP isn't going to stop defending the many extremists in their ranks any time soon. In fact, dedicated Trump loyalist Sen. Josh Hawley has only been gaining more airtime on Fox News since Jan. 6.
We MUST remain vigilant. Trump and his extremist coalition of white supremacists and conspiracy theorists aren't going away quietly, and we have to make sure we can defend our democracy from whatever right-wing, extremist attack comes next.
