Donald Trump lied about the election. He assembled a mob. He incited an insurrection. And he left everyone in our Capitol for dead.
These are facts that were made clear by the House impeachment managers, including my brother Congressman Joaquin Castro. Then they were affirmed by a bipartisan 57-43 vote—the most bipartisan vote on impeachment in history.
And yet, Donald Trump was acquitted of charges on a fake technicality made up by Mitch McConnell and supported by Texas Senators Ted Cruz and John Cornyn.
Team, Texas deserves better—and we need to begin the work right now of flipping this state. People First Future is identifying and supporting candidates up and down the ballot who will help us do that. Can you pitch in right now to help us flip Texas and replace cowards Cruz and Cornyn?
It's time our state had leadership that will fight for us instead of themselves. It's time we elect bold, progressive candidates who will work to tackle the important issues like climate change, police violence, and immigration—instead of leaders who bow to Donald Trump.
