Hi John,

I work in this space as a gun violence survivor and a devoted professional. That is the mindset I bring to all of Brady’s work. I hope our voice is one you trust.

So the email you received from us last night, that incorrectly stated the anniversary of the Parkland shooting was today, and not tomorrow, February 14, may have been confusing, or harmful. And for that I am truly sorry.

Robert Schentrup wrote that message with us to honor his fellow survivors and his sister, Carmen, who was murdered by the Parkland shooter. As a survivor, I know the courage it takes to share your story and the strength it takes to keep telling it.

I do not want us to lose sight of who is most important on these painful days. This is a week for the survivors of Parkland. Anniversaries are hard. And we hope that you will still honor the victims and survivors with us - with love and with action. Thank you so much for being a part of our movement to save lives from gun violence.

Our sincerest apologies again,

Liz Dunning
Vice President of Development, Brady
