Fellow Young Democrat, join the IYD Black Caucus

We are so excited to officially announce the launch of the Indiana Young Democrats Black Caucus.

The goal of the Black Caucus is to amplify Black democratic voices in Indiana, expand on our political power, and advocate for issues that are vital to us, our family, friends, and neighbors. From city halls, county commissioners, councilors, trustees, mayors, and state legislators — black people are essential to the growth and progress of the Indiana Democratic Party and within the Indiana General Assembly.

We have seen the seismic, revolutionary change that comes from the activism of Black women. Our Black History Month t-shirt, made by Black-owned #317GetAGrip in Indianapolis, will honor and touch on the powerful women in our state — past, and present.

Thursday, 2/18 @ 7 PM EST: The “Visions for the Indiana Democratic Party” will be an opportunity for Hoosier Democrats and progressives to share success stories and challenges in order to work together to grow and strengthen the party and progressive goals. The speakers will focus on addressing what elements of the party organization have helped them succeed and what elements of the party they believe could be improved to make the party more inclusive and successful.
